Contemplations on Spirit
'In this blog I contemplate the means to understand one self and the motivation that moves us to unfold in heart and soul.'
The Yellow brick road
august forecast
I want to go deeper into the kite that's been happening since August 7th, and I also want to add the trine between Jupiter and Saturn that's now building since August 8th. I'm a little hesitant to get into the Lionsgate portal because I feel it's kind of a hype. I also study both sidereal and tropical astrology, and within sidereal astrology there isn't really the same thing right now, because it has a different momentum. So I'll keep this to the kite and the trine between Jupiter and Saturn in the tropical zodiac.
Since August 8th we've seen that Saturn is going to form a trine with Jupiter, which is already part of that big kite. The big kite between Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Jupiter was created because of the opposition Venus is now forming with Neptune.
In psychological astrology, every planet depicts an archetypal force in our psyche. To become whole, we express these archetypal forces as they're given in our blueprint - so aspect, sign, position, placement, all of that is relevant. Once we get to know ourselves and live to our full potential, we can have a free life - free from the bondage of life and death, let's say.
I'm focusing on the tropical approach in this blog - sidereal/Vedic is a bit different.
The kite created by the opposition between Neptune and Venus will be very brief, but for such a fast-moving planet as Venus, it will actually be quite long - until August 17th. That's ten days. That's a gap in time - a funnel in time where we can catch our breath, and where we can direct that purging nature happening through the outer, slower-moving planets that govern much of the unconscious and the transcendental part of the psyche.
Practically speaking:
Uranus invites us to become authentic and break free from all limiting beliefs, circumstances, relationships, and situations.
Neptune invites us to be inspired by the experience that we are all one, that we're part of something bigger, and that there is endless awareness. It's all one.
Pluto invites us to shine a light on everything that is dark, to embrace the shadow, and to live to our full potential in line with our current stage of personal development.
These three archetypes are connected right now.
Jupiter is less unconscious. It's more about our vision - how we want to expand, how we can improve, how we can become enthusiastic about things, and how we can connect different parts of our life, of ourselves, of our awareness, to gain perspective and create something better.
Venus - that brief ten-day gap Venus creates - is a softening of the edges. It's also a moment where we can take a breather and simply enjoy, or invite a sense of harmony and balance back into the process.
Then there's the trine that started on August 8th: Saturn, retrograde in Aries, is adding to the mix, forming a trine with Jupiter that will go exact on August 31st. Saturn is all about making things practical - about building blocks, about testing whether our vision, all that funneling we've been doing, is also applicable in daily life. Is it sustainable? Does it help us in our responsibility, or does it limit us?
Saturn asks us to be patient now, because it's in retrograde motion. There can be a hesitant tendency - feelings of being lesser than, of maybe not being good enough. That's something to be mindful of.
Because Venus is still in the mix, I definitely recommend really going out to play and enjoying this moment where everything can settle and you can experience a greater sense of ease.
All of this is relevant in relation to your personal birth chart - here it becomes important to decide which system you want to use. Again, I'm speaking about the tropical zodiac here. Saturn is retrograde in Aries, Neptune is also still in Aries. Jupiter is in Leo. Venus is in Libra. Pluto is in Aquarius. Uranus is still in Gemini. That gives you an idea of the position of those planets, and it's really important to have it visible. I'd really recommend having your chart drawn up by an astrologer, or logging into reliable software.
We're now in the testing stage. The trine has just started, but it will build and go exact on August 31st. That means we can become more receptive to feelings of being lesser than, of needing our practice, our vision, our insight, our stage of personal development to be acknowledged by others, feelings of maybe needing to take responsibility for it, and then also deciding whether this is something that limits us or something that helps us structure our vision, our insight, our personal development, so we can make it sustainable and build a backbone for ourselves.
(I'll leave out the kite involving Mercury here - I've already covered that in a different blog.)

The solar eclipse
Again, the relevance lies in your own personal chart, because that's how it will be felt and experienced in your life.
On August 12th there's a solar eclipse. Why is that so important? We're in a stage of becoming - we're unfolding. On this path of self-realization we encounter all kinds of challenges, obstacles, gifts, breakthroughs, and also setbacks. It's all about becoming - it's a journey in itself.
An eclipse is like a catapult that shows light: because of that instant darkness, the light is taken away and then catapulted back. So it's a truly unpredictable stage where we can also experience miracles - it's not only bad. In olden days, when the light would get "devoured" (think of Samudra Manthan and Rahu/Ketu - image below), people used to be genuinely afraid of eclipses.
In psychological astrology, we find it can go so many ways. It can also catapult light that was already shining, but because of that instant darkness and dimming, it can amplify that experience. That can mean it goes the way you want, or the way you don't want - depending also on ritual practice.
Why did ancient civilizations practice ritual? Why did they look at omens, at the stars? Because it's about having a sense of influence, an active relationship with the divine - meaning: if there's a certain time and place, a certain momentum where a certain narrative is at play, ancient civilizations already knew that by honoring that timeframe, that narrative - honoring, respecting, and celebrating what is present and what is potential - they could affect the outcome. As always, a frame of reference is also always a narrative. It's not endlessly up to your own demand, but it's definitely something we can work with.
So this is an interesting time where our vision is being tested, our purging is being tested, but it's also a time where we can really peel off everything that's insufficient and simply meditate on our visibility, our vitality, our need to follow our own path, reap the fruits of all the purging that's been going on, and reorient ourselves to continue the journey ahead.
The journey ahead also involves a square between Saturn and Mars, and a lunar eclipse on August 28th. The journey ahead also means that whole trine between Jupiter and Saturn is still building toward exact - we're not there yet.
Closing
But find what gives you joy - that's really important right now. Find what gives you a sense of ease. What gives you a sense of balance. What gives you a sense of harmony. Find where your vitality lies. Find what gives you energy. Allow life to have a part that isn't causal - that's maybe even fractal - and by sending out our intention, sending out how we feel about things, what we believe in, and taking responsibility for it, we can definitely, definitely have an effect on the outcome.
It's all about knowing the momentum, having a vision of what you want to achieve, where you want to go, and then also trusting that life will offer you the steps needed to take you there. Just follow the Yellow Brick road that leads from your heart. Embrace all parts of you that surface; Just like Dorothy in the tale of The Wiz, we - ie all parts within - are all on our way to find hOMe.
Thanks for reading. Thanks Claude for noting this.
