Venus entering Aquarius on the 3rd of January
We’ve touched on the fact that the course of the “personal planets” ( Mercury, Venus and Mars ) are rather fast, resulting in short term trends, brief happenings and moods so to speak. From this perspective it’s almost ridiculous to notify every single transit of the personal planets. On the other hand, when monitoring the course of these personal planets we see a shift trough the houses, again rather swift.
We can feel a difference, but usually this needs to be supported by a similar trend within the forecasting to take weight.
When you look at the outer edge of your chart, you’ll see the zodiak signs divided in parts of 30 degrees each. Meaning that this is an abstract version of the actual astronomical star signs. Depending on the housing system you use, one zodiak sign is either overlapping, including and / or assigned entirely to one astrological house. This points out that it is not always accurate to speak of “the Aquarius house of your chart” for instance. When you work with Placidus housing system like me, you might see one house overlapping the whole Aquarius sign in the chart, or one astrological house starting somewhere in the middle of one zodiak sign (I’ll stick with the Aquarius sign for this example). You can see the difference in the images below;
Left: the whole Aquarius sign is included in the first house, cusp 1 at 28 degrees 40' Capricorn and cusp 2 at 29 degrees 26' Pisces. Middle: cusp 9 and cusp two both start within the Aquarius sign 9 at 6 degrees 14' and 10 at 27 degrees 44'. Right: cusp 12 at 11 degrees Aquarius cusp 1 in the following sign Pisces.
One of the few conveniences of looking at the zodiak signs in the outer edge of the chart, is that once you know the degree where the planet abides (in our example 01. 00’ degrees Aquarius), one can determine the current position of the planet within your chart. Again, with Venus, this position transits rather quickly. FYI Another convenience of looking at the zodiak signs in the outer edge is to determine “rulership”. This deserves a whole separate blog so I will write about that another time.
Now for the “mechanics” behind Venus in Aquarius:
Venus: is our primal need and ability to harmonize, experience togetherness and share affection (in horary astrology she rules valuta) I.a.
So Venus in fixed air sign Aquarius:
Air: Perceives trough rational understanding; when understood within its personal narrative and categorized trough mental explanation.
Focussed on exchange of information, the mind needs to be stimulated. The world of feelings can be overwhelming since feelings are irrational.
Fixed: Needs to withdraw focus and turn within to cope with life. This can be a literal withdraw, so physically taking a step back (into another room for instance). But it can just aswel be a sense of zoning out to focus on one self. Henceforth one needs more time to adapt to changes, inclined to cling to the known.
Yang: Is outgoing by nature, not dependent on outer stimuli (note Mars in Sign for full clarity)
Time in Nature: Finding the importance and support within the tribe. Viewing the world from a humanitarian perspective and respecting social cohesion.
Venus in Aquarius in the birth chart in a nutshell: Feelings of affection and love are expressed trough communication. To feel a sense of harmony and togetherness one needs to feel heard and in their own turn one will reach out trough the need for rational understanding. When emotions get strong things can become overwhelming, if so the need to withdraw can arise. When things are clear and mentally perceived one can sustain within the romantic relationship from a perspective of mutual respect and understanding.
